After years of operating as an online vintage clothing store, Inside Out Vintage was preparing to open their doors for the first time to the community of Burleigh Heads in Queensland. They wanted their store to be a place where individuality and sustainability could be celebrated by vintage fashion lovers.
Inside Out Vintage came to us without a clear idea of what they wanted, they just knew they needed something that would match the vintage aesthetic they had planned for the interior of the store. The empty store had white walls and plenty of natural light shining through during the day, so they emphasised the importance of the sign standing out at all times. The small business hadn't decorated the store yet or solidified their brand identity, so this LED neon sign was going to be the piece that would help them not only decorate their shop, but also shape their branding.
The Solution
Inside Out Vintage were initially uncertain about which colour, font and size they wanted the sign to be, so we provided multiple different mockups to help them visualise their different options. With their need for the sign to be vibrant on those sunny Queensland days, they knew the colour they chose was going to be of importance, which is why we suggested going for red LED neon. The font needed to make the sign easy to read and be vintage, classic and timeless. The sign needed to be big enough to take up the main wall and be the focal point of the store. We communicated our suggestions to Inside Out Vintage and gave them various designs and real examples of their different options so they could decide what would work best for them.
The Results
Once Inside Out Vintage decided on all the details, they were ready for us to bring their vision to life. We knew how important this custom LED neon sign was going to be for Inside Out Vintage, and we were excited to be playing a part in the growth of their brand. The finished product was a neon masterpiece that seamlessly blended vintage aesthetics with modern technology, perfectly capturing the essence of Inside Out Vintage.

The Customisations
Whether it was for aesthetics, durability or versatility, every detail of the Inside Out Vintage sign served a purpose. Here are some of the features of the sign that made it perfect for Inside Out Vintage:
Size: The sign was 207cm wide and 20cm high, which was the perfect size to take centre stage on the wall and be the eye-catching feature they were looking for.
Colour: The vibrant red LED neon shined throughout the store and added to the vintage aesthetic and easily stood out against the white walls and bright sun.
Font: Inside Out Vintage ended up deciding to go with the timeless Helvetica font, making the sign easy to read and classic
Backing: The 207cm wide sign was separated into 3 parts so that each word could be installed individually, giving Inside Out Vintage more freedom in installation and ensuring durability. The clear rectangle acrylic backing gave the size a clean look, allowing focus to remain on the vintage glow.
